Shrinky Dink Fairy Princess Mushroom Village

Here’s a neat and easy craft idea for any child who loves our 3D Fairy Princess Shrinky Dink kit. With a few household products and a little imagination, you can create a custom Fairy Princess mushroom village, perfect for playtime fun!

What you will need for this project:

First, let’s make the Fairy Princess Shrinky Dinks – the inhabitants of the mushroom village. Take a 3D Fairy Princess Shrinky Dink kit and (according to instructions) use the tracing paper and templates to make an assortment of Fairy Princess’s and accessories, such as flowers, butterflies, etc.

When done tracing, color the Shrinky Dinks with the colored pencils, cut out with scissors and have an adult “bake” the Shrinky Dinks in the oven to set the designs. Place the Shrinky Dinks under a heavy book after they are removed from the oven to ensure they are flat and straight.

Now it’s time to create a custom mushroom village for the Fairy Princess’s to live and play! Take different size paper cups and have each child decorate with colored pencils or take different colors of construction paper and tape around the cups. Cut out a small door in each paper cup with scissors.  Draw windows on the sides of each cup and decorate with flower stickers to complete the cups.

To create the roof for each cup, take a small paper plate or paper bowl and decorate with colored pencils or cut a piece of construction paper to fit (works better on paper plates than bowls because of the shape). Once done colored, take white circular stickers or cut small circles out of white construction paper and tape onto the top of the paper plate or bowl to resemble a spotted mushroom cap.

Attach one paper plate or bowl onto the top of each paper cup to create a unique mushroom house! Create several (in different colors) to create a colorful and magical mushroom village for the Fairy Princess Shrinky Dinks!
